Player name: Violet
Characters played: Adrien, Blythe, Piper, Riley, Minnie, Edie
Character Name: Kritika Rao
Age: 23
How long They've Been in the Deck: 23 years
Suit/Rank: Six of Spades
History:
Kritika Rao was born as the middle child to a fairly old Deck Family. Her older sister, Ishani, was three years older than her, and her younger sister Madhu was born three years later. Her childhood was relatively normal, along with a lot of emphasis placed on her Hindu culture and beliefs. Half the time she spent running around outside with her friends was in a sari, and she was just as comfortable in the folded cloth as she was in Western clothing. She bonded closely with her sisters, and though their ages were spaced apart, they were inseparable.
As she grew older, she began to inherit the ambitious nature of her parents. As two Tens who had flown up the ranks, she wanted to follow in their footsteps. Once Ishani turned 15, Kritika was right by her side as she began to challenge up. The 12-year-old absorbed all that Ishani learned from her successes and failures, and as she grew older, she too began to challenge up, though it was without much express purpose. While some vague idea of being Queen seemed to be a future goal, nothing much motivated her climb besides her own personal ambition.
And then Katya became Queen. She was now on the Rao family radar, and while the parents regarded her with a sense of suspicion, Kritika had nothing but admiration for her. Now she had something to drive her - not to become Queen, but to become an aid to the Queen. And after a year that culminated in a particularly decisive challenge to Six, she was given her dream job.
For the past six months, she's been mostly content, not rising any further in the ranks in that time. Although being the P.A. to the Spade's Queen is by no means an easy job, she loves it. There's trouble on the homefront, though, as her parents try to find someone for her to marry, something that she does not want at all.
Personality: First and foremost, Kritika is very tied to her culture. Her religion and upbringing factor a lot into the way she carries herself and speaks. She's very ambitious, something that she's picked up from her parents and her sisters. Nothing much flusters her at all, and she's very sure of herself. While she appears very independent, she knows when to give in and ask for help. She's also something of a feminist and hates when women are forced into the 'housewife' corner. She does have a temper, but it flares up and doesn't last long. She doesn't often hold grudges.
Her sense of humor is very dry, but she does have good communication skills. She is a logical, clear thinker, and hardly ever loses her cool. While she might appear to react to things blandly, it's just because she's a passive person and hardly ever shows exactly what she's thinking through her expressions. She is very passionate about her talents, such as baking and food decoration, though she doesn't often get a chance to practice or utilize them. Most of the time, she doesn't allow what people think of her to bother her in the slightest.
Appearance: Kritika has long black hair, which she often keeps in a loose ponytail or a thick braid. Her large brown eyes are always accented with kohl and mascara. Her skin is rather dark, and she's quite tall at 5'8". Her limbs are long, and she has a generally willowy figure. Her bone structure is quite sharp, and she carries herself with a severe sort of grace. When it comes to fashion, she likes Indian and American clothing equally, and she wears an even mixture of both. Her favorite outfits are combinations of bright and muted colors, such as orange and blue or green and white.
